1 Corinthians 6:19

I was just on the phone with a very good friend of mine, and the Holy Spirit gave me this explanation as i was speaking to her. I couldn’t let a second pass before sharing it.

So we were speaking about some issues she was having about keeping herself, and how she’s been trying to avoid indulging in sexual intercourse with a man who is not her husband(well we don’t know that yet). And in trying to help her, i started to share with her how in order to successfully get rid of this with the help of the Holy Spirit, she had to have a reason for it…an end goal of some sort.

This Bible verse just came to me, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;” The key word is ‘temples’.

What is a temple?—-> ‘a building devoted to the worship, or regarded as the dwelling place, of a god or gods or other objects of religious reverence.’

God could’ve said, do you not know that your bodies are houses/properties of the Holy Spirit. But he chose to use the word temple…a temple is a sacred dwelling place, a place only people worthy enough can enter , in those days it was the holiest place of worship, where only priests were allowed to enter(not just anytime)

SO if God is saying your body is His temple, that means its His dwelling place, hence only specific chosen people can enter(Not any Tom, Dick, or Harry). Wait, do you know who God is? DO you know how Big and awesome He is? He wants your body to be His dwelling place!!! Im not sure you know how big of a deal that is! If you really do, you wouldn’t dump this body with anybody

And picture this. If you go to the temple to pray for example, and some way some how some woman’s children come running through the temple. The noise they are making would interrupt your prayer, and distract you as well, you might forget what u were focusing on that you end up stopping abruptly, in order to continue later when they are gone.

What am i saying?

If you allow anyone into the temple of the Holy Spirit, You interrupt God’s plans for your life, you distract God’s purpose for your life, you cause Him to stop and then start at a later time. That is delaying God’s plan for your life.

Do you really want to do that?

I doubt it. I know i want to experience the fullness of God. You don’t want to miss it! This message isn’t just for those who have never been touched, but also for those who may have done this before and have now decided to start afresh with God.

P.S Let’s keep all distractions away from God’s Temple so that we can fully experience God’s plan and purpose for our lives.

    1. Yes, you’re right. Purity is key, it is more than abstaining from sexual relations. It is keeping our hearts, minds and bodies holy, without moral blemish or stain for the purposes of God.

  1. Those already bought with a price should seek to glorify the one who has bought them.

Every child of God should thus be always conscious of the fact that they have been bought, and that they are a sacred habitation for God’s manifestation.

This, when keenly observed will ensure a life of purity and progressive consciousness of actions, thoughts, and what have you.

    I was encouraged reading this.

God bless your muse, your mind, and resolve. 🙂
